The story of La Fenice is one of heritage, rebirth, and the careful reinvention of a Cervinia icon.
La Fenice began life as a stone-built chalet, built in 1936 high above the Aosta Valley, with uninterrupted views of the dramatic Matterhorn. It was known in its heyday for its beautiful botanic gardens and attracted numerous notable visitors, including the Italian royal family of Savoy.

Following years of demise and decay, its new British owners undertook a painstaking restoration, recreating this important historical structure to the very highest design standards, and to share this breathtaking corner of the Italian Alps with the wider world.

Coupled with a vision of how La Fenice – which means ‘The Phoenix’ in Italian – would bring a new benchmark of unsurpassed luxury to Cervinia and nearby Zermatt, with a real desire to protect and nurture its unique Alpine location, this extraordinary and unique chalet came into being.
